Bug In Adobe Flash 11

on February 15th, 2012 | Filed under General News

WEBSITES WON’T OPEN IF USING ADOBE FLASH!

This is just a reference for those people who use only Internet Explorer as a browser. If you have Adobe Flash 11 installed on your computer, it may not open webpages using Adobe Flash images. This is happening on the TOCA New Index page. The page opens fine on Google Chrome and FireFox, but not on Internet Explorer.

Here are a few links you can go to and read more about this problem:

Merry Christmas and Season’s Greetings

Wishing The Thompson/Okanagan Community A Very Merry Christmas!

As we take a few moments to remember what Christmas is all about, and calm our hearts, and put our wallets away,  and just sit quiet and embrace the beautiful spirit of Christmas and all that it means.   As we enter 2012 we prepare for change and spiritual attunement,  open the heart and feel the love of each and everyone of us.

It has been a hard year for many and it’s this time of year, that your family and friends need support the most.  Make sure you don’t forget someone important in your life, and don’t be afraid to say “I LOVE YOU“, none of us can hear those 3 words enough.  It always brings a smile, and makes us feel good, and sometimes even brings a tear or two.

Here is my Christmas Poem “Christmas Twinkle”

Christmas Twinkle

December arrives with a sparkle of delight
Knowing soon that parcels will arrive overnight
Faces lighten up with a smile and good cheer
As Christmas time slowly comes near

The snow starts to fall with night  magic of blue hue’s

As the trees transform into “Smurf Town Clues”

The children run out and snowmen appear
As they roll up the snow and pile three here

Everyone smiles as you pass on the street
And open arms wide to greet and meet
The gifts are all wrapped in red, blue and green
With ribbon and bows to match the Christmas scene

It’s now the night before Christmas and the fire is lit
All the family comes around to await St. Nick
The gifts are piled high at the base of the tree

Waiting for giggles and children with glee

Empty stockings were hung each one with a name
To make sure dear Santa knew everyone’s name

Christmas day has arrived with excitement and belief
As they stare at the tree with great relief

Santa left gifts perfect for each one
Now another Christmas day has begun
The house smells of Turkey roasting as families arrive
Raising a glass and toasting “Thank God we are alive!”

Horsey Ladies Annual Charity Auction Benefit

Raising funds to support local non-profit groups has been an annual event for the ”Horsey Ladies” for 14 years running strong.   The “Horsey Ladies”  love of horses brings them together from all over the Thompson/Okanagan valley, and enjoy a Christmas decorated theme room, putting everyone in the mood for giving.  In this years auction held at the Spallumcheen Gold and Country Club, there were over 100 items auctioned off that raised over $6,800.00.   Many thanks to all the businesses and individuals who provided items for this annual  auction, as well as the volunteer time from committee members.  To honor some of the committee volunteers their names are: Elspeth Manning, Amy Vaughan, Michele Gould, Ruby Edwards,  Ester Gerlof and Nancy Roman.

The Horsey Ladies have grown a solid support group over the years and are not a society or registered non-profit but simply committed group of people who love to support those less fortunate at Christmas time.

Each year they pick a charity to donate the funds they have raised to and groups are given an opportunity to present their vote at the dinner meeting.  This year the vote was shared with the Vernon Women’s Transition house (Esquine Assisted Therapy Program) and the Community Dental Access Centre in Vernon.
